Plumbing Contractor in Somerville, MA

Somerville has one of the densest, oldest housing stocks in the Greater Boston area, and that means shared drain stacks, original cast iron, and supply lines that have been modified by multiple owners over the decades. We find the actual point of failure before recommending a fix — no guesswork, no unnecessary demolition.

Our Somerville Plumbing Services Include:

Leak Detection & Pipe Repair
Drain Cleaning & Clog Removal
Water Heater Repair & Installation
Boiler & Heating System Service
Fixture Installation
Sewer & Drain Line Repair
Gas Piping

Emergency Plumbing Services We Offer

New England winters are notoriously harsh on your pipes and heating systems. A few things are worth knowing before a small problem turns into an expensive one.
Galvanized Pipes: They don’t fail gradually; they rust from the inside out, choking off your water flow for years before finally bursting without warning.

Creeping Water Pressure: When water pressure creeps up over time, it secretly stresses every single joint and seal in your home until something inevitably snaps.

Rainy Day Floods: A flooded basement isn’t a weather issue; it’s a sump pump or grading issue that gets worse (and costlier) every single season it’s ignored.

Our emergency plumbing in Somerville, MA, walks you through what’s actually happening in your walls rather than just handing you an invoice. Understanding the why behind the fix is part of what keeps small jobs from turning into emergencies.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They came promptly and immediately identified the problem with my boiler which I thought was a water heater issue. They fixed it and were courteous and answered all my questions. I have used them in the past and intend to continue to used them. They were also reasonably priced.

Frequently Asked Questions

Several units in my Somerville triple-decker are backing up — is that one issue or several?

Almost always one issue: a clog or break in the shared main stack. We camera-inspect the line to pinpoint the exact location before recommending a repair.

My basement floods every time it rains hard — is that a plumbing problem?

It can be tied to a failing sump pump, a blocked floor drain, or a sewer line surcharging during heavy rain. We diagnose the actual source rather than just installing a pump and hoping.

How old is too old for the original cast iron in a Somerville triple-decker?

Most cast iron plumbing has a 50–75 year lifespan. If your building hasn’t had a camera inspection and is pre-1970s construction, it’s worth checking before a small crack becomes a full backup.

Do you coordinate with landlords and multiple tenants for scheduling?

Yes — we regularly work with property managers and landlords across Somerville’s rental-heavy housing stock to schedule around tenants with minimal disruption.

Can you replace a shared building boiler, not just individual unit systems?

Yes. We service and replace both individual and shared/central boiler systems common in Somerville’s converted multi-family buildings.
